Megan Piper co-founded The Line, East London’s public art trail (www.the-line.org), with the late regeneration expert Clive Dutton OBE. She served as its Director from 2015-2025 and continues to support the organisation as an advisor.
Her energies are now primarily focused on her life in Folkestone, where she has lived since 2021.
For the best part of a decade, Megan Piper represented a small number of artists and artist estates with a focus on rediscovering and re-evaluating artists whose careers had started in the 1960s and 70s. She ran The Piper Gallery in Fitzrovia (2012-13) and had spaces on Jermyn Street, St James’s (2016-17) and Dover Street, Mayfair (2017). Her programme aimed to present artists to a new generation and to demonstrate both the strength of their lifelong commitment to their work and the continuing dynamism of their recent production. She also realised a number of exhibitions in collaboration with other commercial galleries.
